Beth Medrash Elyon is a yeshiva in Monsey, New York. It was considered one of the elite yeshivas during the 1950s and 1960s. It closed in the 1960s due to disagreements among the leaders of the yeshiva. Its past Roshei Yeshiva have included Rabbis Reuven Grozovsky, Gedalia Schorr, and Yaacov Kamenetsky. Among its graduates are Rabbis Yisroel Belsky, Rav Yakov Moshe Kulefsky, J.D. Bleich, Yosef Goldman, Nosson Scherman, Moshe Leib Rabinovich (current Munkatcher Rebbe), Lipa Margolis, and Professor Aaron Twerski. The two brothers, Rabbis Dovid Shustel and Shlomo Feivel Shustel studied there as well. Their father Rabbi Simcha Shustel was the Rosh kollel.
The yeshiva was subsequently reopened. It was headed by R' Don Ungarisher, who was the son-in-law of R' Reuven Grozovsky. Rav Ungarisher died on October 30, 2011. His son-in-law, R' Yisroel Mordechai Falk, currently serves as Rosh Yeshiva.
